Progress at Northrop Grumman
The UE and the Company agreed to a number of articles including articles on the 401(k), training, holidays, vacation, temporary employees, overtime and more.
The company and union agreed to a 401(k) plan which represents a dollar for dollar company match of the employees' contributions up to 2% of the employee's salary.
Under the new vacation article employees will be able to accrue vacation on a bi-weekly basis after one year of service. Workers will also be able to bank up to 2 and half times the employee's annual leave. For instance, employees with less than 4 years of service will be able to bank up to 5 weeks of vacation. After employees reach their maximum accrual, they will be paid out for accrued vacation above the maximum every six months.
Northrop employees also agreed to a new health insurance plan to protect the current employee premium contribution amounts and protected other benefits such as dental insurance, short term disability and more.
These benefits should also apply to Vermont workers as Northrop and the Union have agreed that benefits at both facilities will be identical.
The only issues left for Northrop employees on both coasts are wages and personal days. California workers are scheduled to address these issues on August 21 and Vermont workers are scheduled to bargain on September 9.
